Sleeping Dogs is a 2012 open world action-adventure video game by United Front Games and Square Enix London for PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360 platforms.

Developed by United Front Games, Sleeping Dogs revolves around how an undercover San Francisco cop Wei Shen breaks into the Triads, the Chinese transnational organized crime organizations from the inside. It is an open world action-adventure video game is set in Hong Kong and published by the Square Enix London Studios.

In the process of trying to get to the inside of the Sun On Yee Triads organization, the undercover police officer Wei Shen gets busted in a drug deal and lands in jail. He meets, Jackie Ma, an old friend who offers Wei to join his gang after they are released. As he is a part of the gang now, he gets to meet the Sun On Yee members and later Winston Chu, a Sun On Yee red pole and leader of the “Water Street Gang”. He keeps his cop boss informed about these contacts.
To test the trustworthiness of Wei, Winston sends him on missions to gain back control on his territory from his opponent, Sam “Dogeyes” Lin, leader of the “Jade Gang”. The story goes on to reveal many other missions leading into subplots which the player needs to win with Wei’s perspective and control. Most part of the game is set in the modern-day Hong Kong with busy streets and with exotic locations. The player is free to a fight club, car-jack, visit gambling dens betting on cockfights, sing karaoke and much more, as long as the cover isn’t blown. It’s filled with high-octane action, a mix of martial arts and a lot of intense gunfights.
